Our Future Is Calling

Our Capital Campaign, Our Future is Calling, honors the strategic plan that took into account the growth and successes of the past twenty-five years to frame the future. It recognizes not only the natural growth that should occur but also visionary changes that will allow HC to fulfill its mission uniquely and dynamically.

Our Capital Campaign initiatives lay out a clear plan to advance the school. Each of these initiatives required focus, planning, and investment. The focus and planning have happened, and now we need you to help accomplish the goals.

Phase 1: Celebrating Our Heritage

List of 4 items.

  • 1. Athletics

Facilities are the current priority for Houston Christian High School athletics. As a Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) school of the highest caliber, Houston Christian offers a valuable scholar-athlete experience. HC is an important part of the prestigious statewide league. Athletic events are often the first time many students and families experience the HC campus and the facilities need to represent the same high standards espoused in HC’s mission.

  • 2. Student Center Third Floor Classrooms and Patio (Construction Complete!)

Houston Christian’s Student Center was built ten years ago and added much-needed academic, library and dining facilities in the center of all activities.  At that time, the third floor was added to allow for growth and used mostly for storage. This year, it was clear that our academic programming had grown and we needed that space. Once completed, our languages will be united in this beautiful new space.  Five classrooms were added, with a TV Studio alongside a technology classroom that is used for the daily recorded announcements and daily academic programming.

Name classrooms, the conference room, TV studio and be a part of HC students’ everyday education. These brand-new areas expand HC’s ability to engage students and provide the technology and environment required to provide cutting-edge experiences.

  • 3. Bush Center for Scholars & Leaders Leadership Lab & Programming (Construction Complete!)

The vision for leadership was cast in 2004 and the path by which Dr. Steve Livingston and trustee Jeff Reeter arrived at the Bush’s door in Kennebunkport was a well-thought-out plan that took into account principled leadership for generations to come. In the ten years since the George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders officially opened on April 16, 2012, the Center has become a distinguished centerpiece of the Houston Christian campus. It would be hard not to be inspired by the words used to describe 41: character, courage, compassion, competence, communication, calling, and culture. Our strategic plan expands and deepens the Leadership program within the George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders.
