  • Laptop Order

    Students are required to purchase a laptop and calculator package from Houston Christian. The package form will be available shortly.

    The tax-free purchase date is May 25, 2020

    Once laptop information becomes available, you will be notified.

  • Uniforms

    Tommy Hilfiger is the uniform provider for Houston Christian. 

    Please visit their website to order your uniforms. Samples and sample sizes are available in the front office. 

    Please note: men are required to have one pair of pants as part of their uniform. Although HC does not have a chapel dress, there are occasions where pants for men are mandatory.
    For specific uniform questions, please refer to the HC Student Handbook.
  • Freshman Course Selection

    *Please note, when we reschedule course selection, you will be invited to bring your course selection sheet. Until that time there is no actionable item for you to complete regarding course selection.*
    Freshman course selection, scheduled for early April, has been postponed. We will notify you when a decision for rescheduling has been decided.

  • Transfer Student Information

    Course Selection: Please contact the HC Counseling office at 713-580-6099 to schedule an appointment. It is helpful to do this before summer begins as there is summer reading for several courses. 

    After enrollment, all transfer students MUST submit a transcript release to their current school upon completion of the second semester. The form can be found here

    Transfer student orientation will be August 14th from 9am - 1:30pm in the Livingston Learning Commons. Please bring your laptop.
  • Placement Testing

    Placement testing is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th.  World Language will be offered at 9 am and math will begin at 10:30 am. Students will have 60 minutes for foreign language and 90 minutes for math. 

    As a reminder, any student wishing to take a course beyond Algebra 1 (including Pre-AP Algebra 1) must take the math placement test.  Any student who previously took Spanish or Latin and plans to continue at HC must take the placement test, even if they plan to start in Spanish 1 or Latin 1. The Foreign Language department would like a base-line for all students.

  • Book Order

    Once you receive your courses, visit the MBS website to order books.
  • Jump Start

    Dates for Jump Start are as follows:

    Session 1: 7/6-7/9       8:30 am-12:00 pm
    Session 2: 7/13-7/16   8:30 am-12:00 pm
    Session 3: 7/20-7/23   8:30 am-12:00 pm 
    Session 4: 7/20-7/23   1:00 pm - 4:30 pm 

    Parents are only required to attend laptop distribution and presentation.

  • Supplies List

    General Supplies:
    • HC required Computer and Calculator
    • Printer at home
    • Appropriate textbook(s)
    • One 2.5 or 3 inch binder
    • 7 pocketed divider tabs (our favorite are the Avery Big Tab Insertable Two-Pocket Plastic Dividers with 8 multi-colored tabs – product number 11907)
    • 3-ring punch (kind that fits inside a 3-ring binder)
    • Loose-leaf paper (college or regular rule)
    • 2 Composition Notebooks (You will need 3 if you are in Spanish 1)
    • Highlighters (multiple colors)
    • Blue or black pens
    • Red grading pen
    • Pencils
    • Daily Planner – All students are required to keep a written (HARD COPY) daily planner.  Best options are those with a weekly and monthly view.
    Students MUST come prepared to EACH class with writing utensils and paper for taking notes.    

    Class Specific Supplies:
    Teachers will distribute a list of other required supplies for their specific course on the first day of class.
  • Summer Reading

    Students are required to complete summer reading. Lists will be available in April.

  • Summer School

    *Summer school is now full. If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist, please contact Heather Rosandich.*

    Freshman students interested in completing their World History course this summer should complete the application by April 1st. *Please note: If you have not yet paid your enrollment deposit, your summer school spot will NOT be reserved, regardless of when it was submitted. Please follow the steps on the summer school application.*

  • Algebra 1B Summer Course

    This two-week summer course is to refresh and strengthen Algebra 1 skills in preparation for Geometry and beyond. Students will be exposed to the different technologies and teaching methods used at Houston Christian.

    The application for the Algebra 1B Summer Course will be available shortly. Please bring the completed application to the Counseling Office in order for your place to be held.
  • Algebra 2 Summer Course

    The purpose of this two-week summer course is to refresh and strengthen Algebra 1 skills in preparation for Algebra 2. Students will be exposed to the different technologies and teaching methods employed at HC needed for success in Algebra II.

    To register, complete the application form and return to the Counseling office. Forms will be available in April.

  • Athletic Tryouts/ Physical Forms

  • Dynamic Sports Training

    If you are an athlete and want to be in the best possible position to succeed next season, DST is THE place to be this summer. Trainers will be offering summer sessions. Register now!

  • Fine Arts Auditions

    Freshman auditions for both the HC Theatreworks 2020-2021 fall show and winter musical will be May 2nd 9am-12pm. All auditions will be located in the HC Black Box Theater.  Please prepare a short monologue for the fall show and/or a Broadway song for the musical. Accompanist or audio outlet will be available. Wear comfortable clothing. You might be asked to try some simple choreography.

  • New Parent Crash Course

    Mark your calendar for August 27th! Join us at 11:30 am or 7:00 pm in the Daffin Lecture Hall. No need to RSVP. 

    We are requesting that all freshman and transfer parents attend this crash course. The information is highly informative and very helpful- even to those parents who are not new to our school as things are always changing. Topics to be covered include:
    • Managing parent technology (parent portal, teacher's portal pages, checking grades, etc.)
    • Creating self-advocates
    • An inside look at what to expect from our teachers
    • Effective parent-teacher communication 
    • Homework management and study tips (including tips for fighting the Facebook, i-chat, and texting battles) 
    • Information and tips about how to access help and tutoring students 
    • Words of wisdom from parents who have gone before you
