The Houston Christian High School Orchestra is built on a simple premise: extraordinary music happens when a strong, supportive community comes together. Open to string players across all grade levels, the orchestra offers a vibrant space for students to master technical skills, perform rich symphonic and chamber literature, and grow as confident musicians.

Beyond the stage, the orchestra family is a close-knit hub for student leadership and lifelong friendships. Through collaborative ensemble work, musicians develop the executive skills that serve them far beyond high school—discipline, team-first communication, and artistic resilience. From dynamic campus concerts to local competitions and chamber showcases, HC Orchestra provides students with the platform and community to thrive.

HC Orchestra

This course is open to students in grades 9 to 12 with prior experience on violin, viola, cello, or string bass. Students analyze, perform, and create music in an orchestral setting while exploring the history and culture behind the repertoire and connecting music to other areas of study. Highlights include seasonal concerts, TMEA, TPSMEA, and ISAS contests, and national and international performance trips.
