Orchestra

art of the highest caliber

The Houston Christian High School Orchestra strives to be more than an outstanding musical ensemble. It is an example of how the strength and support of community can produce art of the highest caliber.

Through Orchestra, students will perform great music, improve technically and musically, and be given leadership and social opportunities with students from all grade levels and musical groups. The Orchestra family provides a safe, enjoyable environment for our students to develop their skills.

The Houston Christian High School Orchestra has an exceptional reputation for musical excellence. Students have the opportunity to perform in large ensembles, chamber ensembles and solos, in competitive and non-competitive environments. All students are required to perform a relaxed audition for placement purposes.

The orchestra program provides students with leadership and social opportunities in addition to quality music making and technical instruction. Peer-to-peer leadership and the relationships formed through orchestra play a valuable role to a student’s future success. The skills learned in orchestra such as responsibility, communication, teamwork, and good citizenship transfer to other classes and eventually to their adult lives, college, and the workplace.
