Mustangs serve Clinica Esperanza in Roatan, Honduras

To kick off Missions Emphasis Week, we want to share a story from a family within our HC community, that participated in two different service projects over this past Christmas break. Their selflessness and dedication are the very traits we reflect upon throughout the year and especially during our Missions Emphasis Week.

Cassandra Mott about her family’s time in Roatan, Honduras:
“First, we collected medical supplies for Clinica Esperanza and delivered them. Alex engaged the Diversity Club to participate in this effort and several kids participated, and I asked for donations from friends, family, and colleagues for my 50th. Clinica Esperanza is the only clinic on the island that dispenses medications for those who cannot afford a private hospital. The clinic charges $12 per visit but most cannot afford to pay even that so the visit is free for many. The clinic also delivers babies and performs minor surgeries. Here’s the link: https://clinicaesperanza.org/donate/.”

“Second, we brought donations to help make nearly 500 (!) Christmas gift bags for the local children.  We had the honor of “playing Santa” on Christmas Eve in the village center and surrounding areas, even driving through some of the more remote areas to personally deliver Christmas gifts to the kids.  We have never seen so many happy little faces!”
