Houston Christian's Ron Crandall Named 2025-26 NCSAA Boys' Varsity Basketball National Coach of the Year
Houston Christian High School is proud to announce that Boys' Varsity Basketball Head Coach Ron Crandall has been named the 2025-26 NCSAA Boys' Varsity Basketball National Coach of the Year.
The award, presented by the National Christian School Athletic Association, recognizes one boys' varsity basketball coach nationally each year and is among the most meaningful honors in Christian school athletics.
The NCSAA selects its Coach of the Year based on far more than wins and losses. Honorees are recognized for their knowledge of the game, their ability to develop players, and their genuine commitment to Christ-centered coaching. Coaches are evaluated on how well they communicate with and care for their players, how deeply they pursue their own relationship with Christ, and whether their program reflects a sustained culture of Biblical discipline and excellence.
Coach Crandall checks every one of those boxes. This past season, he led the Mustangs to an SPC Championship, capping a remarkable year on the court. But those who know Coach Crandall know that the scoreboard has never been the whole story. His investment in his players goes well beyond basketball, and his program has become a model for what it looks like to pursue excellence with purpose.
Nominations for the award are submitted by athletic directors, fellow coaches, parents, and athletes, making this recognition a true reflection of the community's respect for Coach Crandall and the culture he has built.
Houston Christian congratulates Coach Crandall on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for the example he sets for our students every single day.
