HC Hires New Head Track & Field Coach: Raymond Bean

Houston Christian High School is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Raymond Bean as the new Head Track & Field Coach.

Coach Bean is already a familiar and respected member of the Mustang community, having served as the school’s Head Cross Country Coach for the past three seasons, a role in which he will continue. His leadership, character, and passion for the growth of student-athletes have made a lasting impact on the Cross Country program, and Houston Christian is excited to see that same dedication now leading Track & Field.
“Coach Bean’s vision and energy are exactly what our track program needs to grow and thrive,” said Terry Pirtle, Athletic Director. “We are blessed to have him guiding our student-athletes not only as competitors, but as people of faith and integrity.”

Coach Bean brings a strong background in both track and cross country. Before joining Houston Christian, he served as the Head Cross Country and Track Coach at St. Mark’s Episcopal School in Houston. He holds a B.B.A. from Texas Southern University, is USATF certified, and grounds his coaching philosophy in excellence, integrity, and faith.

Beyond athletics, Coach Bean is deeply engaged in his community. He serves as Head Usher at Fort Bend Church and lives out his strong walk with Christ daily. He and his wife, Carla—an elementary school teacher at Fort Bend Sullivan—have been married for 25 years. Their daughter, Morgan, is currently a sophomore at Texas State University.

Coach Bean will begin his new duties immediately and is in the process of building a staff of highly qualified assistants to further strengthen and enrich the Mustang Track & Field program.
