HC Hires New Baseball Coach: Shawn Ina
Houston Christian High School is proud to announce the return of Coach Shawn Ina as the new Head Baseball Coach of the Mustangs.
Coach Ina brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and leadership experience, with a coaching career that spans over 25 years across the high school and select levels. From 2000 to 2010, he served as the Assistant Head Coach at Houston Christian, where he was instrumental in building the foundation and early success of the Mustang baseball program. Coach Ina helped to build the Mustang baseball program to a prominent level during his first tenure at Houston Christian.
His coaching journey includes time as the Head Coach at Northland Christian High School and most recently as an Assistant Head Coach at St. John XXIII College Preparatory in Katy, Texas. In addition to his work in high school athletics, Coach Ina has spent the past two decades actively coaching in the Select Baseball community, developing players and preparing them for the next level of competition.
His deep understanding of talent evaluation and player development will be an incredible asset to the Houston Christian baseball program.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Ina back to Houston Christian,” said Athletic Director Terry Pirtle. “His leadership, coaching experience, and professional background—combined with his history of helping establish our program—make him the ideal person to lead Mustang Baseball into its next chapter.”
