Congratulations to the Houston Christian robotics team, StangTech, which drove its robot straight into first place over Thanksgiving at the North Houston BEST Robotics competition. The team will compete in the North Houston Regional in the coming months.
This year, due to COVID restrictions, the team set up an obstacle course in the Livingston Learning Commons and live-streamed its performance to judges. They were asked to create a robot that gathered "cells" and test them to determine if the cells were infected, uninfected, or immune. Based on what the cells were, the team could either isolate or vaccinate the cells to stop infection. Below are official results:
1st Place BEST Video Design Challenge
1st Place BEST Marketing Presentation
1st Place BEST Critical Design Review
1st Place BEST Engineering Notebook
2nd Place BEST Robot
Houston Christian's robotics team has steadily grown since its inception seven years ago to now reach 41 students who fill a variety of rolls on the team. Its consistently high performance has only increased the club's popularity on campus and the school looks forward to its success as the year progresses.
Congrats to all participating students! 'Stang 'Em!
