March 20 HoS COVID-19 Update

Look here for additional information on campus closure and rescheduled school events. This page will be updated weekly.

Academics.

Our academic leaders are well prepared for distance learning and will monitor transition into this next phase as it develops. Look for an email later today from Dr. Price, the Principal, that provides detailed information on the structure and format for distance learning. As coursework proceeds, expect the first three days of this new process to require time for orientation and adjustment by both students and teachers. Feedback to your student’s teachers can be helpful as is patience in the process. Technology concerns should be addressed to techdepartment@houstonchristian.org.

Gala

Volunteers have worked tirelessly this year to support the school with “
A Night in the Winner’s Circle.” Unfortunately, this must be rescheduled and the format will be changed to a virtual event online in support of our Mustangs. Look for further information and dates to be announced here. Now, everyone, anywhere can be part of the gala in what will prove to be a novel, fun way to support the school and continue to ensure our students and teachers get the resources they want and deserve!

The Big Event

Our premier admissions campus based showcase, The Big Event, previously scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, has been cancelled and moved on to our website for a virtual experience. Volunteers will not be needed that evening; thank you for always being willing to share your experience at Houston Christian. We will reach out to you for assistance in the days to come to help transition new enrollees into Mustangs!

AP Exams

The AP Program is developing resources to help schools support student learning during extended closures.
The AP Exam administration remains as scheduled for schools that will be open on May 4–8 and 11–15, with late testing scheduled for May 20–22. The College Board is providing free resources to support remote learning, and are working on a plan for students to take AP Exams from home.
