Distinguished Scholars Class of 2025

A Note from the Director

Each year, I am reminded that the work of the Distinguished Scholars Program extends well beyond academic distinction. DSP invites students into a community of serious inquiry, disciplined thought, and intentional formation. Here, ideas are examined carefully, questions are pursued with intellectual courage, and growth is cultivated in both mind and character.
The senior work represented on this page reflects that journey. These projects mark the culmination of four years of sustained effort, rigorous scholarship, and Christ-centered formation. During their time in DSP, students have not only developed mastery within their disciplines but have matured into thoughtful researchers, critical thinkers, articulate communicators, and authentic leaders whose influence will extend far beyond our campus.

Each senior’s body of work is presented in four parts, each designed with clear purpose and distinct skill development in mind:
  • A TED-Ed Student Talk recorded earlier in their DSP journey, capturing the development of their public voice and their growing ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity
  • A brief Senior Research Night presentation, crafted to distill key insights from their work and guide the audience toward their more comprehensive multimedia project
  • A multimedia product, selected intentionally to match audience and purpose, demonstrating rhetorical awareness and creative execution
  • A full written thesis reflecting collegiate-level research, depth of analysis, and a distinctly personal voice
No two projects are alike. That diversity is by design. Over four years, scholars are not shaped into a single mold, nor are they guided toward a predetermined style of output. They are formed with careful attention to their individual gifts and callings, so that their scholarship reflects who they uniquely are. Each student learns to take ownership of their work and to make thoughtful decisions about how best to communicate it. The structure of the program is consistent; the expression of scholarship is not. What emerges is work that is rigorous, thoughtful, and distinctly personal.

The transformation across four years is evident. Students enter as promising and curious underclassmen. They graduate as scholars who think carefully, communicate persuasively, and approach their disciplines with conviction and humility. While their topics vary widely, they share a common understanding: their scholarship is participation in God’s redemptive work, offering their intellect, gifts, and God-given passions to bring glory to the Lord and hope to a broken world.

We are so incredibly proud of the scholarship displayed here, but we are even more proud of the people behind it. Above all else, these students have grown into remarkable young men and women. This work required discipline and perseverance, yet what matters most is who they have become along the way. It has been a privilege to walk alongside them in this journey. And so, I invite you to explore their work carefully and witness the kind of formation that occurs when students are given the time, structure, and mentorship to grow into the fullness of their intellectual and spiritual calling.

With gratitude and appreciation,
