Mustangs Named TPSMEA All-State Choir
Congratulations are in order for our Mustangs! This fall, we had 13 students audition for the Texas Private School Music Educators Association Region 3 Choir. This round of competition involved hundreds of private and homeschool choral students in the 9th-12th grade from across southeast Texas. Students who audition for this choir are amongst the strongest high school vocal musicians in our state.
Of our students who auditioned, Annabelle Cody and Mikayla Villafuerte were named to the Region Treble Choir, and Joey DeLongchamps, Yianni Rokas, and Chloe Wilkin were named to the Region Mixed Choir! These students will participate in the TPSMEA Region 3 Choir clinic and concert at Willow Meadows Baptist Church on January 13-14, 2023. The concert, open to guests, is at 4:00pm, January 14, 2023, at Willow Meadows Baptist Church. It will be a beautiful program, and we encourage HCHS community to attend!
In addition, Joey DeLongchamps, Yianni Rokas, and Chloe Wilkin advanced to the state round of auditions. During state auditions, the top 64 singers in each voice part from across the state of Texas auditioned for the TPSMEA All-State Choir. The top 25 singers in each of these voice parts were named to the TPSMEA Texas All-State Choir. Texas is well known throughout the country and the world for its exceptional artistry cultivated through its choral music programs; the students named to this choir will represent that legacy.
