HC Names New Track, Tennis, and Cross Country Coaches

Houston Christian High School has announced three new head coaches joining the Athletic staff for the 2022-23 academic year, starting immediately.   

 

We have named Cjay Brown as our new Head Track Coach. Most recently, Coach Brown has served as the Assistant Track Coach at Kinkaid since 2018. He also coaches the Dave Bethany Elite track club here in Houston. With his distinctive experience, vast knowledge of SPC track, and expertise in elite training, Coach Brown is a perfect fit for HC.

 

Raymond Bean is our new Head Cross Country Coach. Coach Bean will also be working with distance runners during Track season. Raymond has served as the Human Resources Generalist and Head Cross Country and Track Coach at St. Mark’s Episcopal School since 2016. He is USATF certified and holds a B.B.A. in Business Management from Texas Southern University.

 

We have named Di Akina as our new Head Tennis Coach and will be working extremely hard to make sure that HCHS Tennis continues to be very competitive in the SPC. Currently, Coach Akina is the director of King Daddy tennis here in Houston and is responsible for running and maintaining UTSA tournaments through KD tennis. She previously served St. Thomas Episcopal as the Head Tennis Coach for their middle school. Her experience, recommendations, and vast knowledge of competitive tennis in the Houston area make her a perfect fit for HC.
