Outstanding Scholastic Achievement at Houston Christian

Jonathan Chen and Davis McCollister, seniors at Houston Christian High School, have achieved the high level of recognition as Semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship program. National Merit Semi-Finalists are students whose PSAT score places them in the top 1% of each state's high school seniors. This is an extremely high honor and coveted by colleges. Their extraordinary performance on the PSAT places them in competition for National Merit College Scholarships. In addition, Houston Christian High School is proud to have the students recognized as National Merit Commended Students: Jayden Chang, Kyle Hartman, Mason Jolink, Audrey Jones, and Robert Pounds. These exceptional students scored in the top 2% of all juniors nationwide who took the PSAT as juniors. These students illustrate outstanding academic promise, and are among the highest performing students in the nation.

The mission of the National Merit Scholarship Program is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. The enduring goals of NMSC’s programs are: to promote a wider and deeper respect for learning in general and for exceptionally talented individuals; to shine a spotlight on brilliant students and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence at all levels of education; and to stimulate increased support from organizations that wish to sponsor scholarships for outstanding talented students.
 
Houston Christian High School is a co-educational, private college preparatory school for students in grades 9-12, and seeks to teach the whole child mentally, physically and spiritually. The school is located at 2700 West Sam Houston Parkway on a beautiful and spacious 43-acre campus. HC is a member of ISAS, NAIS, HAIS, and the Greater Houston Partnership.
