Where Ideas Become Change
Houston Christian is home to the George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders (BCSL) in honor of the 41st President, George Bush, and former first lady, Barbara Bush. Dedicated on April 16, 2012, BCSL is the only high school leadership center bearing the name and integrating the leadership legacies of a United States President.
BCSL offers a 90-year depth of knowledge for study where students at any grade-level will have historic material at their fingertips. Visitors experience many facets of President Bush’s time in the White House including key leadership and legislative moments from the presidency, compassionate policy initiatives enacted during his Administration, and his dream for students to be tomorrow's leaders.
Houston Christian proudly works with other agencies such as the Presidential Library, National Archives, Bush School of Government at Texas A&M, The Points of Light Institute, and the Barbara Bush Center for Family Literacy. Artifacts, documents, and interactive components capture the key decisions and events of the Presidency of George Bush.
Programs of Distinction
Our goal for every student at Houston Christian is to successfully navigate, manage and blend the rigors and challenges of academics with the many co-curricular enrichment opportunities available.
As part of our mission, we believe that leadership and scholarship must be modeled and developed in its students. As the nation’s only high school combining these dimensions within a Presidential Center, Houston Christian will provide resources for students to study and celebrate the leadership of George and Barbara Bush.
