Departments and Courses
Scholarship begins in the classroom. Our core curriculum philosophy requires students to complete four years of study in English, history, religion, math and science. Teachers often collaborate to encourage an exploration of subjects from a variety of perspectives through an interdisciplinary learning program. Block scheduling accommodates different learning styles and provides a collegiate atmosphere with variety in the weekly calendar.
Inspiring leadership is at the core of HC academics, athletics, and the arts. We believe each student can lead for the greater good, can influence people into action for a greater cause and can transform their family, community and culture for Christ. Whether our students find success as a servant leader, a chosen leader or a gifted leader—the outcome remains the same—an attitude of valuing others, the capacity for hard work, persistence in the face of discouragement, a public sense of the ability to affect the lives of others and a concern and commitment to personal excellence.
