HC Announces New Athletics Director, Terry Pirtle

Houston Christian (HC) is pleased to announce Terry Pirtle will assume the role of Athletics Director in June. With a wealth of multi-sport coaching experience throughout Texas at the high school level, Terry joins the Mustangs with a strong leadership and management background. Terry most recently worked for Second Baptist School, where he served as the Head Football Coach for the Upper School in Houston, Texas.

He guided his team to be District Champions eight years in a row during his tenure, starting his first year in 2013. He was recognized as Coach of the Year from several organizations, including Houston Touchdown, Lone Star Christian Sports Network, and Padilla Poll TAPPS. His role as Head Football Coach and Head Baseball Coach at Brook Hill High School resulted in multiple state records, including State Champions for the 2011 football team. He also has experience in position coaching, mentoring coaches, and fundraising while serving many roles at Pine Tree High School.

"Terry's coaching experience and mentoring skills with students and coaches are impressive. He will not only
contribute to the development of Houston Christian's athletic programs but, most importantly, ensure each
student-athlete realizes his/her athletic potential and leadership capability," said HC Head of School, Dr.
Stephen Livingston.

Terry's passion for God, ability to guide student-athletes, desire to mentor coaches, and commitment to building
strong relations across the school community will serve him well as an athletic director at Houston Christian. As
a man deeply committed to his faith, the HC community will have the privilege of working alongside a man
who values both academic success and spiritual development.

"Hiring Terry Pirtle as AD is a tremendous get for Houston Christian," said parent and Mustang Parent Council
President Elizabeth Elliott. "His stellar success as a coach with more than 300 wins in both football and baseball
puts him in an elite group and gives a boost of energy and excitement to the Athletics program at HC."

Terry and his wife, Terri Ann Pirtle, have been happily married for thirty-four years and have three children:
Caitlan (Texas A&M graduate), Travis (University of Houston graduate), and Oliva (attending the University of
Houston).

Welcome, Terry!
