HC Nabs Most TUTS Nominations in Houston

An east wind blew in more nominations than ever for the performing arts students of Houston Christian High School this week after the Theater Under the Stars announced their nominees.

Overall, our small powerhouse school garnered the most nominations among all Houston schools for their outstanding performance of “Mary Poppins A Broadway Musical.” These include ones for Best Musical, Best Director, Best Choreography, and Best Ensemble. Individual students junior Adam Kral, who played Bert, was nominated for Best Leading Actor. Senior Stephanie Leary  earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Winifred Banks, and junior Katherine Lunam, who played Mrs. Brill, was nominated for Best Featured Performer.

“I’m honored to be recognized again by Theatre Under the Stars, but I certainly didn’t do it alone. I’m so proud of all the hard work my students have put in this past year,” said Director Bobby Linhart. “Their dedication to bringing excellence on every level inspires me to do the same year after year.”
