  • Technology Support

    Technology Support
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Technology Support. This position is responsible to serve students and employees for HC’s technology needs, staff the Technology Help Desk,  and assist the Technology staff, as needed. This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong communication, self-initiative, and ability to achieve the goals of the position with interruption. Occasional after school, evening or weekend hours may be necessary. This is a full-time position and reports to the Technology Director.

    Qualifications:
    • Two year’s technology or relevant experience or Associate’s degree in a related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
    • Excellent customer service skills.

    Houston Christian High School (HC), a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Boys’ LAX Head Coach for the 2019-20 school year. This is a part-time, seasonal position. After school, evening and weekend hours will be necessary.
     
    Applicants should have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport, coaching high school athletes, and development of assistant coaches. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience building a highly competitive program and the ability to successfully recruit middle school players. Coaches at HC promote sportsmanship, foster good character in student athletes, provide for the safety and welfare of all participants, and lead as a Christian role model in all settings. The Boys’ LaCrosse Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director  and is responsible for the overall operations of the program, in and out of season. Additional duties of the head coach include working in coordination with the Athletic Director to manage program budget, supervise activities and promote positive community relations. Applicants shall embrace the athletic philosophy of the school and give full support to the multi-sport athlete.
     
    Minimum Requirements:
     
    Broad knowledge and skills in the principles and methods of LAX program operations.
    Ability to supervise and evaluate the coaching responsibilities of assistant coaches.

    Library Media Specialist
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the Library Media Specialist(LMS)The Library Media Specialist ensures the school library program is aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of HC and is an integral component of the instructional program. This position is responsible for oversight and administration of all library, information, and media resources. As a leader in the school community, the LMS serves as an advocate for the school library, creating an environment that encourages the use of educational technology to engage students and improve learning. The Library Media Specialist oversees Library aides, volunteers, and student assistants; works in close collaboration with the faculty and campus leaders; and reports to the Principal. This is a part-time position.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Masters degree or equivalent, degree in library science preferred.
    • Education degree and teacher certification or equivalent.
    • Five or more years of classroom teaching experience, secondary experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal, visual, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Registrar

    Registrar
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Registrar. The Registrar is responsible to manage the student data management system for the school and to insure compliance with school academic policy in all areas of student academic life. A major portion of the Registrar's time is spent on use and management of grade reporting and transcripts which requires a high level of problem solving and understanding grade management software, particularly Blackbaud. This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills and self-initiative, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Occasional after school, evening or weekend hours may be necessary. This is a full-time position and reports to the  Director of Counseling.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
    • 3-5 years experience in secondary education beneficial. 
    • 3-5 years experience as a Registrar; managing data-bases preferred. Experience with Blackbaud preferred.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent verbal, visual, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and record keeping skills (electronic and hard copy) skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • High level of integrity regarding confidentiality of all aspects of student records.

    Athletic Associate and Coach

    Houston Christian High School (HC)is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Athletic Associate.This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Director of Athletics. This position supports all members, coaches and teams of the Athletic Department and manages the logistics of the department. Occasional after school, evening or weekend hours will be necessary. A strong knowledge and understanding of competitive sports is beneficial and the successful candidate will be a self-starter, flexible and personable.  This position may be combined with a coaching position, which may be compensated with an additional stipend.
     
    Minimum Requirements:

    • Knowledge of website management
    • A high level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative.  
    • Strong organizational and communication skills and detail oriented.  
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
