Where Diligence Becomes Success

SPC COVID-19 Update

SPC Board of Directors Statement Regarding the FALL 2020 Athletic Season:

  *   We recognize each of our member schools is under unusual and challenging circumstances regarding each aspect of school operations.
  *   We recognize we are members of a Conference with a wide variance in local conditions, approaches and opinions regarding how to handle these challenging circumstances as they relate to athletic competition.
  *   We recognize our member schools are located in multiple metro areas, spread over a wide geographic area, with varying health conditions, regulations, public opinions and governmental recommendations.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the SPC Board of Directors approves the cancellation of the 2020 fall SPC athletic season.

The SPC Board of Directors further approves maintaining existing plans for the winter and spring SPC Championship seasons, and those plans be sustained without alteration and played as currently scheduled consistent with current SPC policies. The Operations Committee and SPC Board of Directors will revisit plans for winter and spring seasons at a later date and determine if any adjustments are required as a result of circumstances at that time.
The Athletic Department of Houston Christian High School strives to strengthen the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of our students through a healthy development of competition and community.

It’s our goal that every student who wishes to play high school athletics receives a positive, quality experience. Houston Christian provides a place where students of any skill level can connect with their peers through Dynamic Sports Training and coaches.

Houston Christian is a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, which structures its league to allow students to play up to three sports per year during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Houston Christian offers 13 different sports, along with a strength and development coach who will provide personalized programs in our Harrell Family Strength and Conditioning Center.
