Our Campus

Our magnificent 45-acre collegiate-styled campus for grades 9-12 is located at W Sam Houston Tollway N and Kempwood Drive. We're thankful to our gracious donors and families who have enabled Houston Christian to stand on par with some of the finest educational institutions in regards to our facilities.

2000

Opened on August 4, 2000, the first phase of the campus included classrooms, administrative office suites, science laboratories, library, courtyard, multi-purpose room, practice field for football and soccer, and a fiber-optic gigabyte network providing state-of-the-art technology and worldwide connectivity.

2001

An athletic complex was completed in December 2001, which includes a soccer field; stadium seating for track, football, and soccer; gymnasium for volleyball and basketball; weight and athletic training rooms; drill team and cheerleading studio; multiple locker rooms; and two concession stands.

2002

In the fall of 2002, additional student parking was added to meet the long-term needs for an enrollment of 500 students.

2005

The Mustang Corral was completed in August 2005. This outdoor pavilion extends from the Gymnasium into the center courtyard and includes ceiling fans, lighting, and tables and seating for 100 people. It is the perfect place for eating lunch, DOG Night (Dinner on the Grounds) and other campus events. The Pampell Family Chapel was completed in December 2005, and a special dedication was held at the first student chapel service on January 11, 2006. The chapel seats at least 600 people, and it has audiovisual equipment that is required for the contemporary services our students enjoy leading. Additionally, the chapel is designed acoustically for choral performances, so our students can sing praise each week, and for concerts. The seating can be rearranged or removed, which will allow our drama department to hold dinner theater performances in the chapel. HCHS is truly blessed and grateful to the generous donor who made our chapel possible.

2008

The state-of-the-art Drake Performing Arts Center, along with the McNair Gymnasium were dedicated in 2008.

2009

The Victory Tennis Center and Soccer, Lacrosse and Field Hockey Field were completed and dedicated in March 2009. The completion of these projects mark another milestone in the development of our beautiful campus.

2011

In 2011 we opened the George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leader.

2012

In August of 2012, we opened a state-of-the-art Student Center which features a Learning and Dining Commons.

2013

The Brian L. Gennity Maintenance Facility was dedicated in November of 2013.

'I had a group I ate lunch with called the "Lunch Bunch," which met in Mr. Lister's classroom. Mr. Lister liked to call us "the vultures." Mr. Lister was always available after school for discussion and has been a source of wisdom and advice in my important decisions and biblical questions. He constantly encouraged me to read the Word daily and research my questions to ensure I had the right conclusion and thought process. I learned the value of questioning and striving to be a lifelong learner. I hope to carry the wisdom of Mr. Lister into college and the years after."

"My Houston Christian education has given me so many opportunities far beyond what I could have ever thought or dreamed. The Fine Arts department allowed me to excel not only as a performer, but as a whole person. What stand out to me in my time at HC are the numerous teachers and peers I have met who truly care about me and the individual I am becoming inside and out of the classroom."

Remy Garfield

"My favorite aspect of HC was the opportunity to be so involved my senior year. I was the co-captain of the cheerleading squad, Student Council public relations officer, a Student Ambassador, a D-group leader, member of the Passport to Lead program, and a member of the Diversity Club. HC has taught me to always strive for what I want and never stop trying."
