Track's Successful Season Continues at St. John's Mavericks Relay Event

Members of the varsity track team participated in the prestigious 45th annual Maverick Relay Meet hosted by St. John's. The girls team finished 5th, boys 8th in the meet that featured participants from representing over 20 schools.

The meet featured outstanding performances by several Mustangs, highlighted by Kelsey Crawford's victory in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.54. Junior Amie Leitko also was victorious on the day, winning the discus with a toss of 123' 5". Other top finishers on the day where Cameron Moore, who finished 2nd in the discus. Crawford also finished 3rd in shot put, high jump and as member of the 4 X 100 relay team with Emma Hennessey, Morgann Davis, and Taylor Crawford. Leitko took 4th in the shot put (right behind Crawford), while the boys 4 X 100 relay team of Moore, Justin Anderson, Sam Kaestner and Stephen Consoli also finished 4th.

Members of the track team have broken 3 school records already this season. Kelsey Crawford has set new records in both the shot put and 100 meter dash. Sophomore Madison Sheehy has also set a record in the 100 meter hurdles.
